Stove prep: Keep frozen. Cook thoroughly. Do not overcook. Appliance temperatures may vary. Please consider the performance of your appliance when following these directions. Caution: Ice crystals on frozen foods can cause spattering when added to hot oil. Add product carefully. Tips for frying with oil: Always preheat oil uncovered. If oil spatters, cover immediately and reduce heat. When spattering stops, remove cover and return to cooking temperature. Be careful not to spatter or spill oil onto hot burner of range. Heat 2 tbsp, cooking oil in a non stick 12" skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add 1/2 bag (5 1/4 cups) frozen hash browns to form an even layer. Cook 5 - 7 minutes. Drizzle with another 1 tbsp cooking oil and sprinkle 1/4 tsp salt (optional). Carefully turn hashbrowns. Cook another 4 - 6 minutes. Cook to a golden color. Do not stir. Season to taste.
